A Showcase of New Operatic Arias and Songs
Saturday, November 15, 2014 - 7:00pm

330 Seventh Avenue
New York, NY 10001

The Fresh Squeezed Opera Company presents a showcase of New Opera Arias and Songs, featuring Nina Young’s Void on November 15 at 7:00 pm at the National Opera Center in the Audition Hall, located at 330 7th Ave, New York, NY 10001.

This event has been preceded by a two-month call-for-scores, resulting in over 200 submissions! The Fresh Squeezed Opera Company members painstakingly narrowed the program down to nine pieces - from a dogs-perspective on poetry, to a window on an Australian backyard, to an operatic setting of The Yellow Wallpaper, this program has it all.

To make sure everyone gets a chance to hear these amazing new pieces, the Fresh Squeezed Opera Company presents this program free.

About Fresh Squeezed Opera Company:

Founded in 2013 by Smith College Alumnae Maggie Rascoe and Jillian Flexner, and Lee Braun, the Fresh Squeezed Opera Company was formed to serve the classical music community by providing a showcase for new “contemporary classical" works. Every year, young artists write more new music; and every year fewer organizations can provide them with the means of production for this increasing volume of works. We dedicate ourselves to providing composers with a platform to present their new music. To learn more about our company, please visit www.freshsqueezedopera.com. After the runaway success of their first production, La Zombiata, FSO launched a call for scores for operatic arias and songs to open their second season. They also are in the middle of their call for chamber operas. They will close their season in summer 2015 with a fully staged production of the winning chamber opera.
